Strawberries are probably one of the most anticipated spring products. Strawberry fills the markets for a short time, so its fans try to eat this wonderful berry in time.
Strawberry lovers probably know that the most famous of this berry is grown in South Korea. Korean strawberries are very tasty and of high quality and are exported to many countries. Countries that buy Korean strawberries include the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and others. In 2020, Korea made a profit of about 54 million dollars from selling strawberries abroad.
Famous Korean strawberries will soon be cultivated in Uzbekistan. According to the agreement signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agricultural Affairs of Korea, a center for the cultivation of agricultural products and their seedlings will be established in Uzbekistan. 3.7 million dollars will be allocated for this work.
The center is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2022-2025. Thus, in the coming years, Korean technologies will be used in agriculture in Uzbekistan.
The center will perform four main tasks:
In addition, an in-vitro laboratory, a nursery and a greenhouse will be established. Training and seminars will be held for thousands of farmers. They will be taught the experience of Korean planting, will be supplied with virus-free, high-yield, exportable in-vitro seedlings grown in a greenhouse, and will be taught high-yield agrotechnics. These works will be carried out in Tashkent region.
